New Toy
So I finally broke down and purchased a new cycle-computer. my current Specialized Speedzone Pro had wireless front wheel speed and a wired cadence sensor; the computer was great and was not only a fantastic computer but it was amazingly easy to use. Unfortunatly, the wire for the cadence sensor ended up working itself out of the housing for the computer. So with my cadence gone, I was forced to...
American Flyers
Riding on the trainer and watching/singing along to American Flyers puts me in a much better mood than I was when I got on the bike today.
Motivation Mondays
I’m starting to enjoy Monday being my off days for workouts, it really lets me just mellow out after 6 straight days on the bike; I think I should start pretending that I’m in my own stage races, maybe take on Cavendish or Hushovd in some sprints.
This past week wasn’t all that difficult, because a majority of it was spent doing recovery and maintenance riding. The only day that...
Happy Holidays!
So I might be a day or two late; but I hope that everyone had a good holiday. The past two days I have been so busy that I barely had time to fit in my 30 min recovery workouts. Today however was the first of many Aerobic Time Trials that are placed sporadically throughout my training schedule. The goal is to go almost as hard as you can while trying to maintain a heart rate approximately 10 or so...
Motivation Mondays
It’s the second week of my winter break, and all I have really done with my time off has been train. Today marks the begining of the base 2 phase of my plan.
Last week there were a few workouts that had me gasping for air at the end; they were mostly comprised of high cadence sprint intervals that were paired with long rolling hills, leaving only small incriments of time for me to recover...
Kept on truckin
Today on my training schedule, I needed to complete 2.5 hours on the bike. Seeing that the temperature outside is about 10* with the windchill, I have been doing my training inside on the bike trainer.
I cannot stress enough how much I dislike riding on the trainer.
In spite of my love for doing indoors training, I completed all of the time. Today I had 15 min of warm-up, 1 hour of individual...

Nutrition!
Getting back my results from our teams nutritional analysis today; hopefully I am not completely unhealthy!
Ill post up the results later, this is going to help me see where I need to improve and how I need to change my diet to fit race season.
Pretty excited.
Pretty Excited
for next week that is…
Ill be picking up a new bike frame for my commuter/beater bike, which I guess now could be considered quite a nice bike when it’s all finished.
To give an idea, it will be a blank, black version of this frame:
With these wheels (Front Aerospoke/Rear Pista):
With this wonderful seatpost I picked up for a steal:
And the rest of the components:

This is amazing! And totally inspiring. →
A man that at his heaviest point weighed over 500lbs begins to cycle and now weighs 170lbs. I think that this is a great illustration of willpower, and that guy has more than enough to go around.
In other news, today was the first day I had actually gotten to put miles on the bike outside in over two weeks, and i was suffering the entire way. To begin, I had woken up late, so I was in a rush to...
Photos of the new team kit
Here are two quick photos I snapped with my phone to show everybody the teams new kit.
Not the best photos, not the best face; but you get the idea!
so pro it hurts to even look at it!
Blog News!
So I have decided to add a way to comment on my posts; I know not many people view the blog, but I thought it might be a nice way to connect with those individuals that do.
All you have to do is click on the comments link or the post title and a box will appear below the post!
This week is full of fail
As far as training goes that is.
Last night was our teams nutrition meeting, and it completely slipped my mind. So I ended up missing it and not remembering that I had actually missed it until this morning. I guess I could blame it on school and the amount of stress I have seeing that it’s the last week of the semester, but i really wanted to go to that meeting.
This Saturday is the final...
A quick note...
Never leave your training plan 3 hours away where you can’t get a hold of it.
It would seem that I had forgotten to bring my plan with me while repacking to come back down to school after Thanksgiving. Meaning I am just left to guess based on my previous workouts as to what I’m supposed to be doing; not the best way to begin winter training.
I’ll be meeting with Coach this week...
